Khemir Fae

Based on Fetchlings

Khemir Fae are the result of a primal elemental power being rejected or revoked from a member of one of the other Fae tribes. Both situations are extremely unusual without temptation from darker forces. This process is typically lethal as the original elemental power empties the Fae body. However, in some rare instances, another energy can refill the void corrupting the Fae utterly. This process results in a dark, twisted version of the former Fae.

Physical Description

Superficially, Khemir Fae resemble a member of their original Fae Tribe but darker and less alive. Their new patron power has drained their skin and hair of bright colors. Their complexion ranges from stark white to deep black, and includes all the various shades of gray between those two extremes. Their eyes are pupil-less and pronounced, and they typically glow a luminescent shade of yellow or greenish yellow, though rare individuals possess blue-green eyes. While their hair tends to be stark white or pale gray, many dye their hair black.

Society

Khemir Fae are wholly evil and corrupt in their dealings with the world around them. Having forsaken their heritage and accepted a darker path working to spread the influences of the source of their new abilities Khemir tend to become a reverse image of their former life.

There are no known settlements of Khemir and they seem less than inclines to work together for more than the briefest of time. Khemir typically live in larger human settlements and avoid contact with their lighter kinfolk. Khemir often run spying rings, thieves guilds and assassin services. Profit from the loss, pain and death of others is right up their ally.

Relations

All other races are uneasy for some unknown reason around a Khemir Fae. This is their source energy tickling the primal fight or flight senses of most cultures.

Khemir will either establish themselves as a power broker, paid killer or a crime lord. They trade in pain, broken dreams and extortion rackets. They have also been known to operate slavery rings abducting and transporting slaves across borders.

Alignment and Religion

Evil, that is the overriding alignment for a Khemir Fae.

Religous beiefs are often centered around darkness, shadow and death.

Khemir Fae make excellent assassins, oracles, rangers, rogues, and summoners.

  • Male: Arim, Drosil, Jegan, Somar, Yetar, Zoka.
  • Female: Acera, Amelisce, Inva, Renza, Zaitherin.

Fetchling Racial Traits

  • +2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, –2 Wisdom: Fetchlings are quick and forceful, but often strange and easily distracted by errant thoughts.
  • Native Outsider: Fetchlings are outsiders with the native subtype.
  • Medium: Fetchlings are Medium creatures and receive no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Normal Speed: Fetchlings have a base speed of 30 feet.
  • Darkvision: Fetchlings can see in the dark up to 60 feet.
  • Low-Light Vision: Fetchlings can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.
  • Skilled: Fetchlings have a +2 racial bonus on Knowledge (planes) and Stealth checks.
  • Shadow Blending (Su): Attacks against a fetchling in dim light have a 50% miss chance instead of the normal 20% miss chance. This ability does not grant total concealment; it just increases the miss chance.
  • Shadowy Resistance: Fetchlings have cold resistance 5 and electricity resistance 5.
  • Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): A fetchling can use disguise self once per day as a spell-like ability. He can assume the form of any humanoid creature using this spell-like ability. When a fetchling reaches 9th level in any combination of classes, he gains shadow walk (self only) as a spell-like ability usable once per day, and at 13th level, he gains plane shift (self only, to the Shadow Plane or the Material Plane only) usable once per day. A fetchling's caster level is equal to his total Hit Dice.

Languages

Fetchlings begin play speaking their native Fae language. Khemir with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Aquan, Auran, Ignan, Terran, and any regional human tongue.
